Ken Banks
(b 1955, Birmingham, United Kingdom) makes paintings, photographs, drawings and sculptures.
By applying abstraction, Banks lays out  the seen and the obscure, mapping connections of apparently
random works. The thought process is an assemblage of Banks's own typology' , which is  private,
 subjective and unfiltered.

His paintings feature coincidental, accidental and unexpected connections.  Combining unrelated aspects that lead to
unforeseen relationships.  Banks finds that movement in his works documents an energy, that is  connected to
everything , resulting in the combination the whole.

His works doesn’t reference recognisable form. The results are abstracted to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible
interpretation becomes multifaceted.

Ken Banks currently lives and works in Birmingham, UK
